Sneaking a moment...

I'm sneaking a moment to share my latest going-ons... I feel naptime might be running out so I'll make it brief!

 Meal planning.
It sounds boring and tedious to decide what you're going to eat for the next week. I used to think so anyway.
We've been doing this for a month or two and it's changed the way we cook (healthier!) and the way we spend money at the grocery store (less!).
Here's a spaghetti dinner we made. I just love the look of the pasta :D

Pussy willows.
The first sign of spring. I can't believe the winter we've had and how fast spring has come.
(even though it's snowing outside at the moment, it's supposed to melt by Friday).

I haven't gotten around to crocheting or knitting much since last time.
Unfortunately!
But my knitting machine Aunt whipped out TWO pairs of baby socks for Elisabeth while she was in town! :)

The border is growing. Slowly.
I made a whole row of sc in the light gray... only to get about 15 stitches from the end of the WHOLE ROW and run out of yarn! GRRRR!
It pissed me off enough that only today have I picked up the hook again.
Now I'm just going to do hdc rows of green and the dark gray.
This blanket is already getting used though, even with some ends hanging off. It's perfectly large and thick!

As an anniversary present from my aunt, we got a pot of pansies.
(I had just complained about how I will miss out on pansies on my balcony this year).
They are so very pretty!

My muffin is growing at warp speed and now she can stand up all by herself against any table or chair that she chooses.

This face is so cute that I can't even handle it.
I have this photo as my background on the laptop and it makes me smile every time.

Just over a week left until we are headed to Japan...
I can't handle that either!

There is so much still up in the air about living there AS WELL AS after we get home...
If ever, now is the time to just say, what happens happens and hope for the best!

Life's an adventure, right?!

On my table in June...

I have been lucky to get such pretty flowers this June. Having a baby AND a birthday in the same month, wonderful. :)
Not to mention the flowers from our garden. Summer really is the best season here! Beauty inside and out!

Pansies my parents brought me in the hospital. I loved looking at them almost as much as I did my little newborn. :)

Peachy roses and carnations at home.

Pansies on my birthday cake. (made by my mama and hubby)

Tangerine orchid on my nightstand from my husband ♥

Peonies!

Pink carnations.

Those orange carnations lasted almost THREE weeks!
The pink ones are still going strong.

The nasturtium and tomato have exponentially grown. Every time I look out there they're taller!

I had to take a picture the other day of our neighbor's "suicide kitty". This cat gives me a heart attack almost dail.

More birthday and baby flowers :)

I started this post July 4th... And just now am posting it!!
...must try to be a better blogger...

2013: Garden post #10

I'm almost caught up on garden blogging since these are pictures from yesterday! Yay!
If only I could say the same for weeding. ;)

The pansies continue to delight!

Cucumber patch and marigold (that I grew from seed!).

Beans...

Zinnia patch. Patience, the zinnia post is coming!

Ah, finally wonderful roses. Love love love summer!!

2013:Garden post #9

Here is what was happening July 1st.
I am in disbelief that it is JULY!
Where does the time go???
Lots of happy times to come this month so I'm happy anyway!

My mom's pansies have gone bananas.

I think these above and below are my favorites. But it's hard to choose from them which are the prettiest!

Oooh, fancy American zinnia... more to come!

And for comparison's sake to previous years, the currants are coming along nicely.

I love that with this blog I can chronicle time and look back at previous years. I check back every now and then when I want or need to remember what a certain time of the year looked like in nature, the garden, or life in general.
So handy to have a pretty blog with pretty pictures! :)

2013: Garden post #8

These were taken June 28th!

First strawberries. Um, delicious!

Don't worry, the zinnia post will come...

AND FINALLY! My mom's fancy pants American pansies that she has babied from seed have finally bloomed!!! Wow! How gorgeous!!
The best part is, they've only gotten better since when these photos were taken!! :)
Amazing ruffle varieties and gorgeous colors. ♥♥♥

Pansy patio

I love pansies. I love my balcony. 'Nuff said.

By the way, Blogger was making up for being a butthead (or maybe it was my computer) but the photos were uploading lightening fast last night --> why I had a marathon session of posting pictures. Had to take advantage, ya know!
But then when I was uploading the pictures for this post... it started acting up again! :D Go figure.

The shades of the pansies above and below remind me of watercolors. Love them!

The tomato plant has been growing super fast and has lots of little yellow flowers! :)

So there you have it!
I love pansies. Yep yep.
The one thing I am missing a picture of are the nasturtiums I have growing... but I'm sure you'll see them before the summer is over. ;)

Hope your Monday is off to a good start!
